1. Definition of Geogrid: Geogrid is a sophisticated civil engineering material crafted from polymers such as polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride. These are transformed through thermoplastic or molding processes into either two-dimensional grids or three-dimensional grid screens, collectively known as geogrids in the realm of civil engineering.
2. Plastic Geogrid: These are formed as square or rectangular polymer meshes, available in two types based on stretching directions: unidirectional and bidirectional. Starting from an extruded polymer plate, typically of polypropylene or high-density polyethylene, they are punched and then directionally stretched under heat. Unidirectional stretching occurs along the plate's length, while bidirectional stretching further extends this grid perpendicularly, creating enhanced structural integrity.
3. Two-way Geogrid/Bidirectional Geogrid: This is crafted from a polymer through an intricate process of extrusion, plate formation, and punching, followed by longitudinal and transverse stretching. Exhibiting impressive tensile strengths in both directions, this geogrid structure efficiently bears and disperses forces within soil, making it ideal for large, permanent foundational applications.

This configuration offers exceptional tensile strength and modulus, especially at early elongation stages (2%-5%), making it perfect for reinforcing various soil types with tensile strengths exceeding 150 MPa.
5. Steel-Plastic Geogrid: Engineered with high-strength steel wire or fibers, which undergo special treatment and are combined with polyethylene (PE) and other additives. This blend is extruded to form a composite, high-tensile belt with rough compacted grains on its surface. Through specific bonding and welding technology, these belts are arranged and joined to form a reinforced geogrid, ideal for fortifying soil.
6. Glass Fiber Geogrid: This is a mesh structure composed of glass fibers woven through specific processes, enhanced by special coatings and treatment to form a geotechnical composite material. With a core of silicon oxide and other inorganic materials, it boasts remarkable stability, high strength, and modulus, excellent cold resistance, and negligible long-term creep. Its unique mesh structure locks aggregates, boosting the bearing capacity of asphalt mixtures, while its modified asphalt coating enhances wear resistance and shear capabilities.</sub>
