1. Definition of Geogrid: Geogrids are formed using polymers such as polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride through processes like thermoplastic or molding. These grids can be two-dimensional or three-dimensional when used in civil engineering, providing essential support and fortification.
2. Plastic Geogrid: This versatile material features a square or rectangular polymer mesh, available in two types based on stretching directions: unidirectional and bidirectional. Created from extruded polymer plates, primarily polypropylene or high-density polyethylene, these grids undergo directional stretching under heated conditions. Unidirectional grids stretch along the length, while bidirectional grids receive additional stretching in a perpendicular direction.
3. Two-way Geogrid/Bidirectional Geogrid: Crafted from polymers through processes including extrusion, punching, and subsequent longitudinal and transverse stretching, these grids offer high tensile strength in both directions. In soil, this bidirectional structure delivers superior load-bearing and distribution, perfect for extensively loaded permanent foundations.

This process aligns the polymer into a directional linear state, producing a long elliptical mesh with uniform distribution and enhanced node strength. Steel-Plastic Geogrid: Combining high-strength steel wire or fibers with polyethylene (PE) and other additives, this composite material undergoes extrusion to form a high-strength tensile belt with rough compaction grain surfaces. Through innovative bonding and welding techniques, these belts are transformed into reinforced geogrids, offering unmatched soil reinforcement.
6. Glass Fiber Geogrid: This mesh structure, made from woven glass fiber, is enhanced through special coating and compound treatment, resulting in a high-performance geotechnical composite.
