1. Definition of Geogrid: A geogrid refers to a two-dimensional grid or a three-dimensional grid screen, made from polymers such as polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride through thermoplastic or molding processes. When applied in civil engineering, it is termed a geogrid.
2. Plastic Geogrid: This is a square or rectangular polymer mesh, differentiated by unidirectional or bidirectional stretching. Created by punching an extruded polymer plate, often polypropylene or high-density polyethylene, and then directionally stretching it under heat. Unidirectional stretching aligns with the plate's length, while bidirectional stretching extends it perpendicular to the initial stretch.
3. Bidirectional Geogrid: This type of geogrid is crafted through a meticulous process involving polymer extrusion, punching, and longitudinal as well as transverse stretching.
