1. Definition of geogrid: A geogrid, crafted from polymers such as polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride through thermoplastic or molding processes, is a two-dimensional grid or a three-dimensional screen with a certain height. In civil engineering applications, it is referred to as a geogrid.
2. Plastic geogrid: This is a square or rectangular polymer mesh available in two types based on stretching direction—unidirectional and bidirectional. It is created by punching an extruded polymer plate, usually from polypropylene or high-density polyethylene, followed by directional stretching under heat. The unidirectional stretch involves lengthwise stretching of the plate, while bidirectional requires additional stretching perpendicular to the initial stretch.
3. Two-way geogrid/Bidirectional geogrid: Bidirectional geogrids are produced through extrusion, plating, and punching processes, followed by longitudinal and transverse stretching. These materials boast significant tensile strength in both directions, optimizing load distribution and support in expansive, load-bearing soil foundations.

<sub>4. Unidirectional geogrid: Manufactured from polymers via extrusion into a thin sheet, this geogrid features a regular hole net punched out, followed by longitudinal stretching. This process reorients the polymer into a linear state, developing a seamless mesh structure with high node strength. It features outstanding tensile embedding and modulus, especially in early elongation, making it ideal for soil reinforcement with tensile strengths exceeding 150 Mpa.
5. Steel-plastic geogrid: Composed of high-strength steel wire and polyethylene, with other additives, this geogrid is crafted into a composite high-tensile belt with rough compaction grain. It's a fortified soil belt formed by arranging these belts in vertical and horizontal patterns, then welding them with reinforced bonding technology.
6. Glass fiber geogrid: Constructed from glass fiber through specific weaving and coating processes, this material boasts superior durability. Silicon oxide, an inorganic component, gives it stability, high strength, and resistance to cold and thermal changes. It enhances the bearing capacity of asphalt mixtures and offers improved wear and shear resistance through its modified asphalt coating.</sub>
