1. Definition of Geogrid: Geogrids are crafted using polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, and other polymers through thermoplastic or molding processes to form two-dimensional grids or three-dimensional grid screens. When these are utilized in civil engineering, they are known as geogrids.
2. Plastic Geogrid: These are polymer meshes, either square or rectangular, differentiated by unidirectional and bidirectional stretching. Created by punching an extruded polymer plate (often polypropylene or high-density polyethylene), they undergo directional stretching under heat. The unidirectional stretching grille extends only along the plate's length, whereas the bidirectional tensile grille stretches the unidirectional stretching grille perpendicularly to its length.
3. Two-way Geogrid/Bidirectional Geogrid: Crafted from polymers through extrusion, plate formation, and punching, followed by longitudinal and transverse stretching, these geogrids exhibit immense tensile strength in both directions. Within soil environments, they effectively bear and distribute forces, ideal for extensive permanent foundation applications.

 

<sub>4. Unidirectional Geogrid: This polymer-based geogrid is extruded into thin sheets, perforated to create a regular net, and then longitudinally stretched. The process aligns the polymer into a linear state, forming a long elliptical mesh structure with uniform distribution and robust node strength. Our products boast high early-stage (2% - 5% elongation) tensile strength and modulus, offering ideal force bearing and diffusion in soil. With tensile strength exceeding 150 MPa, it suits various soils as a widely-used reinforcement material.
5. Steel-Plastic Geogrid: Composed of high-strength steel wire (or fibers) treated with polyethylene (PE) and additives, this geogrid is extruded into composite high-strength tensile belts. Featuring rough compaction grain, these belts are arranged vertically and horizontally, welded through reinforced bonding technology to form the robust geogrid structure.
6. Glass Fiber Geogrid: This geotechnical composite material consists of a mesh made from glass fibers via specific weaving techniques. Protecting the fibers and enhancing performance, it undergoes special coating and compound treatment. Components like silicon oxide contribute to its stability, strength, and modulus, while its mesh structure locks aggregates and enhances asphalt mixture bearing capacity. The modified asphalt surface treatment ensures superior wear resistance and shear capability.</sub>
