1. Definition of geogrid: Crafted from polymers like polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride, geogrids are created through thermoplastic or molding processes into either a two-dimensional grid or an elevated three-dimensional grid. When employed in civil engineering, these are referred to as geogrids.
2. Plastic geogrid is a distinctive square or rectangular polymer mesh. Depending on the stretching direction, it can be either unidirectional or bidirectional. The mesh is initially punched onto an extruded polymer plate, typically polypropylene or high-density polyethylene, and then undergoes directional stretching under heat. Unidirectional stretching occurs along the plate's length, while bidirectional stretching extends perpendicularly to the initial direction of the unidirectional stretch.
3. Two-way geogrid/Bidirectional geogrid: Fabricated through a sophisticated process of polymer extrusion, plate creation, and punching, followed by both longitudinal and transverse stretching. This results in a material with remarkable tensile strength in both directions, offering superior load-bearing and force distribution across large foundation areas.

Arranged in vertical and horizontal configurations or sandwich layouts, and bonded through advanced welding techniques, it forms a reinforced geogrid structure.
6. Glass fiber geogrid: Composed of a mesh structure woven from glass fibers, this geotechnical composite material undergoes a special coating and treatment process to enhance performance.
