1. Definition of Geogrid: Crafted from polymers such as polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride, geogrids are formed through thermoplastic or molding into two-dimensional grids or elevated three-dimensional grid screens. When employed in civil engineering applications, this innovative material is known as a geogrid.
2. Plastic Geogrid Structure: These are polymer meshes, either square or rectangular, designed to adapt through unidirectional or bidirectional stretching techniques. Initially, a polymer plate, most often polypropylene or high-density polyethylene, is punched and subjected to directional stretching under heat. In unidirectional stretching, the extension is along the plate's length. Conversely, bidirectional stretching involves further stretching perpendicular to the initial direction, enhancing the grid's versatility and strength.
