1. Definition of Geogrid: A geogrid is crafted using polymers like polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride, either through thermoplastic or molding into a two-dimensional grid, or a three-dimensional grid with a specific height. When employed in civil engineering, this structure is referred to as a geogrid.
2. Plastic Geogrid: This is a polymer mesh, either square or rectangular, differentiated by unidirectional or bidirectional stretching. It originates from an extruded polymer plate, typically polypropylene or high-density polyethylene, and undergoes directional stretching under heat. The unidirectional mesh is stretched solely along its length, while the bidirectional mesh is further stretched perpendicularly.
3. Bidirectional Geogrid: Created through polymer extrusion, plate formation, and a punching process, followed by longitudinal and transverse stretching, this geogrid excels in tensile strength both longitudinally and transversely.
