Step 1 - Prep the road surface

Begin by excavating the roadway to the desired elevation. Ensure that your subgrade is fully compacted, devoid of any air pockets, and thoroughly tightened for optimal stability.

Step 2 - Unroll the reinforcement geotextile fabric

Unroll the geotextile fabric smoothly onto the compacted subgrade, ensuring that it remains free of wrinkles and folds. Follow the engineer’s guidance for precise fabric overlap. Step 3 - Sewing the geotextile fabric

On-site stitching is required for this project, utilizing a dual-thread lock stitch to secure the fabric and prevent unthreading. Our equipment, available for purchase or rent, ensures seamless stitching on the job. Choose from prayer, j-seam, or butterfly seams at the engineer’s discretion. For this demonstration, we’ll employ a j-seam, with dual stitches recommended for each seam to avert installation failures.

Step 4 - Apply Aggregate

Apply your aggregate to the specified thickness, taking care to prevent equipment from driving directly on the engineered fill. Verify full compaction of the fill before proceeding to the final step.

Step 5 - Lay Asphalt

With the subbase securely placed, you're primed for the pavement layer (or layers, contingent upon project specifics).
