1. Definition of geogrid: Composed of polymers such as polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride, the geogrid is crafted through thermoplastic or molding into a two-dimensional grid or a three-dimensional grid screen with specified height. When employed in civil engineering, this remarkable material is aptly named geogrid.
2. Plastic geogrid: This versatile material manifests as a square or rectangular polymer mesh, featuring unidirectional and bidirectional stretching variations based on the stretching direction. Crafted by punching an extruded polymer plate, primarily polypropylene or high-density polyethylene, it undergoes directional stretching under heat. The unidirectional stretching grille is extended along the plate's length, while the bidirectional grille continues to stretch perpendicularly, enhancing its versatility.
3. Two-way geogrid/Bidirectional geogrid: Engineered from polymer via extrusion, plating, and punching processes, then subjected to longitudinal and transverse stretching. Featuring rough compaction grain, it serves as a reinforced soil belt. Constructed through specific spacing preparation or sandwich arrangement with special reinforced bonding welding technology, the result is a formidable reinforced geogrid.
6. Glass fiber geogrid: This mesh structure material, composed of glass fiber, undergoes a specialized weaving process. Enhanced through special coating and compound treatments, it is a geotechnical composite material. Key glass fiber components, like silicon oxide, contribute to its stable physical and chemical properties, high strength, heightened modulus, and excellent cold resistance.
