1. Definition of geogrid: A geogrid is ingeniously crafted from polymers like polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride, through thermoplastic or molding into a two-dimensional grid or a three-dimensional grid screen with height. In civil engineering, this transformative material is known as a geogrid.
2. Plastic geogrid is an ingenious square or rectangular polymer mesh. It is crafted through precise directional stretching of extruded polymer plates, often made of polypropylene or high-density polyethylene. The process involves punching followed by directional stretching under heat. Unidirectional stretching grilles extend along the plate's length, while bidirectional stretching involves further stretching perpendicularly, creating robust structures.
3. Two-way geogrid/Bidirectional geogrid: Crafted from polymer through a meticulous process of extrusion, punching, and longitudinal and transverse stretching, this geogrid offers remarkable tensile strength both longitudinally and transversely. In soil, it serves to effectively bear and distribute forces, making it ideal for extensive, permanently loaded foundations.
