1. Definition of geogrid: Geogrid is a cutting-edge engineering material crafted from polymers like polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride. It is formed into a two-dimensional grid or a three-dimensional grid screen of certain height, gaining acclaim in civil engineering applications.
2. The plastic geogrid, structured as either a square or rectangular polymer mesh, comes in two types: unidirectional and bidirectional. This mesh is created by punching an extruded polymer plate, usually of polypropylene or high-density polyethylene, followed by directional stretching under heat. The unidirectional type is elongated only along the plate's length, while the bidirectional type undergoes additional stretching perpendicular to its initial direction, enhancing its strength.
3. Two-way geogrid/Bidirectional geogrid: This robust material is engineered through extrusion, plate formation, and a precise punching process, followed by longitudinal and transverse stretching. Its significant tensile strength in multiple directions makes it an ideal choice for providing effective force distribution in extensive, permanently bearing foundations.
