1. Definition of Geogrid: A geogrid is crafted from polymers like polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride, formed into a two-dimensional grid or a three-dimensional grid with a certain height through thermoplastic or molding techniques. In civil engineering, this is referred to as a geogrid.
2. Plastic Geogrid: This is a polymer mesh in a square or rectangular shape, available in unidirectional and bidirectional stretching variants. It is manufactured by punching an extruded polymer plate, typically polypropylene or high-density polyethylene, followed by heating-induced directional stretching. Unidirectional stretching occurs along the length of the plate, while bidirectional stretching involves further stretching perpendicular to the initial direction.
3. Two-way Geogrid/Bidirectional Geogrid: Produced from polymer through extrusion, plate punching, and longitudinal and transverse stretching processes, this geogrid boasts significant tensile strength in both directions. It enhances force distribution in the soil, making it ideal for stabilizing large permanently bearing foundations.

This process results in a directional linear structure with uniformly distributed, high-strength nodes. With tensile strength exceeding 150 MPa, it's perfect for various soils and widely used as a reinforcement material.
5. Steel-plastic Geogrid: Crafted from high-strength steel wire (or other fibers), treated specially and combined with polyethylene (PE) and additional additives, this composite belt features a rough compacted surface. Made through extrusion and welded using special bonding technology, it forms a reinforced geogrid, ideal for soil reinforcement.
6. Glass Fiber Geogrid: This is a mesh structure made of glass fiber using specific weaving techniques. The glass fiber, protected with special coatings, presents a geotechnical composite material with stable physical and chemical properties, high strength, and excellent cold resistance. Its mesh structure enhances aggregate interlocking, improving asphalt mixture bearing capacity. The modified asphalt coating enhances wear resistance and shear capacity, offering superior performance.</sub>
