1. Definition of Geogrid: A geogrid is constructed from polymers like polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride, formed into a thermoplastic or molded two-dimensional grid or a three-dimensional grid screen. When applied in civil engineering, it is referred to as a geogrid, designed to enhance structural stability.
2. Plastic Geogrid: This innovative material features a square or rectangular polymer mesh, categorized into unidirectional and bidirectional stretching types. Created by punching an extruded polymer plate of materials such as polypropylene or high-density polyethylene, it undergoes directional stretching under heat. Unidirectional stretching aligns along the plate's length, while bidirectional stretching further elongates it perpendicularly, enhancing its strength.
3. Bidirectional Geogrid: Crafted from polymers through processes like extrusion, plate forming, and punching, this geogrid is longitudinally and transversely stretched.
