1. Definition of Geogrid: A geogrid is constructed from polymers like polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride, forming either a thermoplastic or molded two-dimensional grid or a three-dimensional grid structure of a specific height. These grids are crucial in civil engineering applications where they are referred to as geogrids.
2. Plastic Geogrid: This is a polymer mesh, either square or rectangular, craftily engineered for two primary types of stretching: unidirectional and bidirectional. Starting with a polymer plate, typically polypropylene or high-density polyethylene, it undergoes selective punching and directional stretching under heat. The unidirectional grid is stretched along the plate's length, while the bidirectional grid is further stretched perpendicularly to its length for enhanced performance.
3. Bidirectional Geogrid: A marvel of polymer engineering, this geogrid undergoes extrusion, plate formation, and precise punching, followed by both longitudinal and transverse stretching. Its superior tensile strength in all directions provides robust force bearing and distribution capabilities, making it ideal for expansive, permanently loaded foundational applications.

This makes them indispensable for varied soil reinforcement and load distribution.
5. Steel-Plastic Geogrid: By incorporating high-strength steel wire or fibers with polyethylene and additives, this geogrid is crafted into a composite tensile belt featuring surface roughness. Utilizing specialized bonding and welding techniques, these belts are interwoven vertically and horizontally, creating a robust reinforced geogrid, ideal for soil reinforcement.
6. Glass Fiber Geogrid: Engineered from a mesh structure of glass fiber using sophisticated weaving processes, this geotechnical composite material is enhanced with a special coating. Its primary components, silicon oxide and inorganic material, confer exceptional stability, strength, modulus, and thermal properties.
