1. Definition of geogrid: Constructed from polymers like polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride, geogrids are two-dimensional grids or three-dimensional grid screens designed through thermoplastic or molding processes. In civil engineering, these innovative products are known as geogrids.
2. Plastic geogrid: This polymer mesh, available in square or rectangular forms, is categorized into unidirectional and bidirectional types based on stretching directions. Created by punching an extruded polymer plate, usually from polypropylene or HDPE, it undergoes directional stretching under heat. Unidirectional geogrids are stretched along the plate's length, while bidirectional ones are further stretched perpendicularly.
3. Bidirectional geogrid: Crafted from polymers through a precise process of extrusion, plate, and punching, followed by longitudinal and transverse stretching. This design offers substantial tensile strength in both directions, delivering exceptional force distribution and bearing capacity for large foundational areas.

<sub>4. Unidirectional geogrid: Made by extruding polymer into a thin sheet, creating a regular hole net, and longitudinal stretching. During this transformation, polymers align in a directional linear form, creating an elliptical mesh with high node strength. This structure ensures superior tensile embedding and modulus, excelling in tensile strength (>150 Mpa) for diverse soil applications as a reinforcement material.
5. Steel-plastic geogrid: A composite tensile belt formed from high-strength steel wire or fibers, treated specially and combined with polyethylene (PE) and additives. Its rough surface enhances compaction, forming a robust soil reinforcement belt. Arranged vertically and horizontally, it is welded using specialized bonding technology, resulting in a reinforced geogrid.
6. Glass fiber geogrid: Comprising a mesh structure of glass fiber, treated through special coatings for enhanced performance. Its main element, silicon oxide, offers stable physical and chemical properties, high strength, and excellent cold resistance. The mesh structure locks aggregates, boosting asphalt mixture bearing capacity. Coated with modified asphalt, it excels in wear resistance and shear capability.</sub>
