1. Definition of Geogrid: Crafted from polymers like polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride through thermoplastic or molding, the geogrid manifests as a two-dimensional grid or a three-dimensional grid screen. When employed in civil engineering, this innovative construct is aptly referred to as a geogrid.
2. Plastic Geogrid: Marvel at the square or rectangular polymer mesh, ingeniously created through unidirectional and bidirectional stretching. Originating from an extruded polymer plate-most commonly polypropylene or HDPE-it undergoes directional stretching while heated. Unidirectional stretching elongates the grille along the plate's length, whereas bidirectional stretching continues perpendicular to this, resulting in a robust, versatile mesh.
3. Two-Way Geogrid/Bidirectional Geogrid: The bidirectional geogrid is a high-performance result of polymer extrusion, plating, and punching, followed by longitudinal and transverse stretching. This structure provides superior tensile strength both longitudinally and transversely. In soil applications, it offers remarkable force bearing and diffusion, making it ideal for extensive, permanently bearing foundations.

5. Steel-Plastic Geogrid: Combining high-strength steel wire (or fibers) with polyethylene (PE) and additives, this composite forms a potent tensile belt with rough compact grains. From single belts arranged vertically and horizontally, it transforms into a reinforced geogrid through specialized bonding and welding technology, offering unparalleled strength in soil reinforcement.
6. Glass Fiber Geogrid: Engineered from glass fiber in a mesh structure, this geocomposite material is enhanced through specialized coating and processes. Its primary component, silicon oxide, confers stability and robustness. With high strength, modulus, and exceptional cold resistance, the mesh structure locks aggregates, elevating the load-bearing capacity of asphalt mixtures.
