1. Definition of Geogrid: A geogrid is crafted from polymers such as polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride, transformed through thermoplastic or molding into a two-dimensional grid or a three-dimensional grid screen of distinct height, known in civil engineering as a geogrid.
2. The Plastic Geogrid: This innovation comprises a square or rectangular polymer mesh, diversified by unidirectional or bidirectional stretching. Formed by perforating an extruded polymer plate (typically polypropylene or high-density polyethylene), it undergoes directional stretching under heat. The unidirectional geogrid stretches only along the plate's length, while the bidirectional type further stretches in a direction perpendicular to its length.
3. The Two-Way Geogrid/Bidirectional Geogrid: Engineered from polymer through extrusion, plate formation, and punching, it undergoes longitudinal and transverse stretching. This material exhibits exceptional tensile strength in both longitudinal and transverse directions, making it ideal for providing effective force-bearing and diffusion in extensive permanent foundations.

This method aligns polymers into a directional linear state, creating a robust elliptical mesh structure with high node strength. Steel-Plastic Geogrid: Composed of high-strength steel wire (or other fibers) treated and combined with polyethylene (PE) and other additives, it forms a composite high-strength tensile belt with a rough surface for enhanced soil reinforcement. Utilizing specialized reinforced bonding welding technology, these belts are intricately arranged to create a robust reinforced geogrid.
6. Glass Fiber Geogrid: This mesh structure, derived from glass fiber via a precise weaving process, undergoes special coating and treatment for added protection and performance. The main component, silicon oxide, imparts the geogrid with remarkable stability, strength, and cold resistance.
